Remember that classic album ‘All Change’ which shaped the teenage years of many Britpoppers? Well, those liverpudlian legends Cast have officially confirmed a release date for their first studio album in over 10 years! ‘Troubled Times’ is the new studio lp from John Power & Co. and shall be released here in Ireland on Friday the 17th of February 2012. This studio album release will mark Cast‘s 20 year anniversary, after they originally formed all the way back in 1992. ‘Troubled Times’ will be preceded by it’s first single entitled ‘See That Girl’ which will be released on December 16th 2011.
Recorded with producer John Leckie, ‘Troubled Times’ was performed by all original Cast members: John Power, Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson, Pete Wilkinson and Keith O’Neill. This was the bands first time in the studio together since the recording of their previous album ‘Beetroot’ in 2001.
Commenting about the new album, lead singer John Power stated: “Getting back with the band and working with John Leckie again after all these years apart was just how I envisioned it when I started writing the songs for this album. Then it was all about putting into words exactly what it was I was feeling at the time, about all the things I was seeing all around me and troubled times is what we found.”
The official tracklisting for ‘Troubled Times’ is:
Bow Down
Troubled Thoughts
The Sky’s Got A Gaping Hole
See That Girl
Not Afraid Of The World
Silver And Gold
Bad Waters
Hold On Tight

When the members of Grouplove met it was like a dream. The setting was a remote artist colony on the exotic, mysterious Greek island of Crete.
Drummer / producer Ryan Rabin and his childhood friend and former bandmate, guitarist Andrew Wessen came from California, while guitarist Christian Zucconi and keyboarist Hannah Hooper traveled from New York, whereby bassist Sean Gadd was the lone Brit.
Each member went to Greece for their own independent reasons but over time they gravitated towards each other and discovered the sound that unified them: a merging of richly narrated, intricate songs with anthemic classic pop production. It took Grouplove the better part of a year to reunite after they left the island, but after the release their debut album entitled ‘Never Trust A Happy Song’, they’ve realised what began as a fantasy has now become very real.
Don’t miss Grouplove performing live on stage at The Academy in Dublin on February 22nd 2012!
