Following their recent sold out Irish tour, The Overtones have confirmed a brand new set of Irish Tour Dates for November 2012. Britain’s hottest male vocal group featuring Corkonian Timmy Matley will be performing live at the following venues on the following dates:

The Cork Opera House – 9^th & 10^th of November 2012

The Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin – Sunday the 11^th of November 2012

The Waterfront Hall, Belfast – Tuesday the 13^th of November 2012

The Overtones released the Platinum Edition of their Top 5 album ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’ last October. In addition to the twelve songs from the original album, the Platinum Edition has three brand new songs including their new single ‘Second Last Chance’.

‘Second Last Chance’ is a vintage-pop song that, like the band themselves, mixes the tradition of American vocal groups with the best of classic, present-day British pop. With its swagger and bop, this new single fits in harmoniously with classics from their Top 5 album such as ‘Sh-Boom’, ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love’ and their recent original single, ‘Gambling Man’.

Similarly, new  original recordings ‘Say What I Feel’ and ‘Whoops’ acknowledge the impact and influence of great vocal groups, such as The Temptations, The Drifters and The Five Satins, whilst reflecting The Overtones’ pop sensibility and broad contemporary appeal. “Vocal harmony groups have had the great fortune of being able to traverse musical styles from doo-wop through soul, Motown and R&B. We’ve really enjoyed extending The Overtones’ sound to new tracks on the Platinum Edition album.”

The package is completed by three bonus tracks that the quintet performed when they were the house band on ITV1’s Dancing On Ice – Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl In The World’, Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and The Four Seasons’ ‘Beggin’’ which was given the backing of Frankie Valli who, on hearing the group perform it backstage at the Jersey Boys, declared “When you sing this well you should never be nervous”

Having originally formed in 2006, it has taken The Overtones some time to get here, so of course now that they have arrived, The Overtones are raging with ambition. The tours are getting bigger, and they want them to be bigger still. On completing a sold-out tour in March 2011, The Overtones announced a national theatre tour in October, including such prestigious venues as the London Palladium which also sold out.

Van Morrison has officially confirmed his return to the live stage in 2012 with scheduled Irish Tour Dates for Belfast & Dublin! Van Morrison will be performing a live concert date at The Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Friday the 3rd of February 2012, followed by The O2 in Dublin on Saturday the 4th of February 2012. Tickets for these Irish Tour Dates are strictly limited to 4 per person and will be on sale from Thursday the 10th of November 2011 through Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide. The Welsh mezzo soprano superstar will perform live in concert with her orchestra and choir at The O2 in Dublin on Saturday the 15th of December 2012 as well as The Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Sunday the 16th of December 2012. The package also includes an exclusive live CD of the entire show. This young Dublin born five piece commenced their journey almost two years ago, with an early show supporting recently reformed Stone Roses front man Ian Brown in Dublin. Brown immediately gave the confident Irish chaps two enthusiastic thumbs up, and from there the story began.

Made up of brothers Rocky and Gordo Whittaker and three of their best mates harking back from early school days, The Chakras had a goal and they were hell bent on achieving it. The were out to create a powerful sound that could evoke an greater reaction!

The Chakra’s recently headlined their own show at KOKOs in London. They have been chosen as Q Radio’s ‘New To Q’ pick – with ‘Drifting being added to the Q radio playlist. They were invited by O2 to perform a gig in-store, using iPhones in place of instruments.

The formula for success was realised when The Chakras began work with producer/mixer Chris Potter (Urban Hymns) in 2010, on the skyscraping single ‘Build Me A Swan’ which was released on limited 7”. The Chakras put their trust in Potter’s extensive experience and this relationship has given the band the freedom to reference immediate shoegaze influences without masking melody with too much noise. Produced by Jaz Rogers (Annie Lennox,Brand New Heavies/Bryn Christopher) and mixed by Potter, ‘Build Me A Swan’ has provided a telling first band statement.

The album is a variety of focused sound bites, each a distinctive identity of their own. ‘Beautiful Sorrow’ weaves with a mesmerizing, bass-heavy groove, ‘Slowdive’ is a Creation Records friendly, long-lost ballad brimming with fuzz and the unforgettable ‘We The People’ is a call to arms with psychedelic guitar licks that move with power and intent. Adding the finishing touches to the album, the album’s artwork was created by Storm Thorgerson – who has created artwork for artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Mars Volta, Muse, and Biffy Clyro to name a few.
